About

After leaving art college, Geoff Thompson worked for ten years at Westland Helicopters before turning to full-time cartooning in 1986. His first cartoon appeared in the New Statesman, followed by work in Punch, Private Eye, and the Spectator.

In the 1980s Thompson began drawing the editorial cartoon for the Press Gazette, which he still contributes. In the early 1990s he worked regularly for the Mail on Sunday and The Independent, and became diary cartoonist for The Times.

Thompson has contributed to a large number of other publications, including the Guardian, Daily Mail, Mail on Sunday, Sunday Times, Sunday Mirror, Oldie, and Readers Digest. The rest of his work, he explains, "consists of trade magazines and daydreaming."
