Peter Cooper drew single-panel topical cartoons in the Observer in 1964, and has also drawn general joke cartoons for such publications as Daily Mail, Observer, Peace News, Spectator, Tribune, Building, Times Educational Supplement, Teacher, New Scientist, Eastern Daily Press, New Statesman, Liberal Democrat News, Bella, Now, Guardian, Oldie, Sun, Punch and Private Eye amongst others.

He usually signs his name just "cooper" in lower-case letters.
