General design
The general design of the site is based on the concept of the British newspaper which is the final destination for the majority of the artwork in the collection. In addition, a subtle visual connection has been created to the cartoonist Carl Giles.
The BCA hold the personal archive of Giles including objects and correspondence. The screen background texture is sourced from his drawing board and the holes present in the wood are the result of his artistic process; the ghost in the machine so to speak.
