Embedded text or transcript | This epidemic of goal scoring has not only got on the goalkeeper's nerves but thoroughly eaten into their hearts. At one time they used to walk up and down their little havens of rest with "All is not only well with the world but will continue to be so" expression. But this new off-side rule has got them on the jump. They go about their work In a perfunctory manner And no longer have any heart for picking the ball out of the net. The Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper heard five go past him on Saturday - but The unlucky man belonged to New Brighton. As he remarked to his people afterwards "It is not a nice game." No - these goalkeepers are very dissatisfied and some of them are thinking of going in for A man servant. Stay over there and kick anything out that comes in Yes sir! |
