Help for Heroes charity auction
The 50th Anniversary of the death of First World War cartoonist Captain Bruce Bairnsfather is to be linked to raising money for Help for Heroes. Kent authors Tonie and Valmai Holt are producing a book of over 140 of Bairnsfather's cartoons, 'The Best of Fragments From France by Capt Bruce Bairnsfather', and giving all of their royalties to the charity Help for Heroes which supports our wounded from Irag and Afghanistan. In addition, with the co-operation of the Cartoon Museum in London and they are asking the leading cartoonists of today to draw a Bairnsfather-inspired cartoon and to donate it to a charity auction to be held in the Cartoon Museum on the evening of 29 September, the 50th Anniversary. To date Steve Bell, Peter Brookes, Nick Garland, Matt, Oliver Preston, Bryn Parry and Peter Schrank have joined in.
