Question:
What is the difference between registered and non-registered users of the BCA catalogue?
Answer:
The BCA collections and online catalogue are freely available to all, and all users have equal access to the BCA’s resources.
However, if you register on its website you can also build up a collection of favourite cartoons that will be accessible whenever you log on, and from that you can create an online Group of cartoons - with annotations and an introduction - which you can share with all users, whether registered or not.
The only exception to the principle of equal access comes with the BCA's high-resolution images. These can be seen by all users, registered or not, through the zoom facility. But separate agreements with copyright owners mean that UK educational institutions with a JISC licence can also download some of these high-resolution images for teaching use.
