The subject files were kept alphabetically either in filing cabinets or box files. The original order has been kept. A-Z sequences were kept at Giles' studio in Ipswich and at his home (Hillbrow Farm). There are gaps and some of the later material (especially in the 1990s) had not been filed and was in no order. This has subsequently been filed in the correct location where possible but some material has been placed in newly created files.
